Virgin Marley's is located across the street from Pueblo in Estate Thomas, next to the gas station. Our booth will be located near the customer parking. Look for our signature green colors.

Product review: CURLS Creme Brule

Curl Creme Brule is made by CURLS. It is a cream styler that is used to define and moisturize curls without hold. It has the consistency of lotion but works like a gel without the sticky feeling on your fingers. It comes in an 8 oz. bottle that sells at retailer for $12.50 at my store www.facebook.com/tiffanysnaturaltreats.

It does not contain sulfates, silicones, parabens, mineral or petrolatum oils. It is formulated with aloe leaf juice, glycerin, sweet almond oil, and other ingredients. For your second day look, they recommend using Lavish Curls Moisturizer. A product review on Lavish Curls Moisturizer is coming later this week. 
I used this product for more than two months with great results. I especially love the look for twists. My hair feels soft and moisturized. It also looks shiny. I don't need to add any oils to my hair but I like to add coconut oil when my hair is wet.  I would give two thumbs up.  At this price point, it is cheaper to some products that promise the same results.

Straight fixation

I will admit that it has been a while since I trimmed my hair. It was hard to continue to ignore the inevitable when single strand knots and tangles were becoming a common occurrence. I decided to straighten my hair myself. I washed with shea moisture shampoo and conditioner. I followed with session of rollersetting. I was determined to sit under my dryer for at least an hour. Let's just say I didn't last more than twenty minutes.

My next adventure was to blow dry my hair straight using a dryer with a comb attachment. I am not even sure how long it took to blow it out. I just know that I was tired. I kind of reminded me of Chaka Khan circa 1985. I thought I looked great.

Well, that was until I got my hair professionally done today.  I was referred to a salon in the east part of the island but the next available appointment was 6 weeks out. I was not inclinded to wait. So I decided to go Priscilla's Salon not far from main street. Someone from work referred to the salon.  It is a dominican salon. It was cozy and the staff was friendly.

I brought my own products: Tropic Isle Living Jamaican Black Castor Shampoo (with shea butter), a protein conditioner in the same product line, Chi silk infusion, my wide tooth comb, Jane Carter Solution wrap and roll  and Sedu flatiron.  The shampoo was yummie divine and the protein conditioner was very moisturizing. Will do a product review on both products in my next post.

I was told that a blowout would be better than a rollerset so I didn't get a chance to use my wrap and roll setting lotion.  I was hopeful that I would  not suffer significant hair loss from the blowout with a brush. Well, to my suprise the blowout started with wide tooth comb.  It was painless. Very little hair was lost on this adventure. I was more than relieved. I never saw anyone do that. I knew that I was in the right hands. My blowout was surprising quick and dry.

The stylist followed up with a blowout using the brush. By that time, I wasn't afraid of the brush. The next step was the trim. Now, I am not a fan of layers but some stylists seem to  try to cut my hair in weird layers hoping to even it out. Well, my new stylist did not subscribe to that method. She slowly and carefully trimmed my hair across. Then I heard: "Wow, it looks some much better after a trim!" Someone watching the stylist was pleased with the results. I was excited but I secretly prayed that it was not too short. I was watching her in the mirror but I couldn't really see the back.

The final step was the flat iron. Ok. I will admit. That's a lot of heat but I gave the silk infusion and she used a heat protectant to help my hair deal with the heat. I was seriously impressed with the results. I looked like my hair was relaxed. See the results below. I would definitely go back for a blowout.
