My updated regimen for summer
Hey chicas! Here is the low down on my summer hair regimen. I was experiencing a bit of breakage from pregnancy (really after pregnancy) and certain hairstyles so I had to go into rehab mode. I use the following products:
Burt's Bees avocado butter hair treatment - as my pre-poo
Organix Biotin and Collagen shampoo and conditioner
Twist my hair with Darcy Botanicals Curling Cream Gel (which smells yummy delicious)
Add shine with Darcy Botanicals coconut pomade
Karen's Body Beautiful Sweet ambrosia leave-in conditioner (for retwisting)
I have been trying chunky twists and I love it. This style that is easy to do and doesn't require a lot of parting or twisting. With a nine month old, this style is right up my alley. I never tried chunky twists before because I was concerned about not having enough definition. However, DB's curling cream gel is amazing. Now, I will soon be selling this at the store - Tiffany's Natural Treats- but it actually works. It makes me excited to do my hair. I feel like I am starting my hair journey all over again. Love, love, love it. You can see the definition in my last post with the video for the shea moisture giveaway.

Let's take care of those edges ladies!
Ok. I will be the first admit that my edges need work. After having my son, my hair seemed to fall out all over. I don't do as many wash and go's these days because I am using more protective styles. I am also using a lot of jamaican black castor oil. This post was prompted by a photo I saw online. See below:
My first thought when I saw this picture was DAAAAAMN! Truthfully, it can happen to anyone. I am not sure why her hair looks likes this, but pulling on those edges with weaves, extensions, etc can be hazard to the health of those edges. I decided to take a look in the mirror and ask myself: what am I doing to protect those edges?
The answer:
I wrap my hair with a silk scarf at night, use jamaican black castor and avoid tight braiders like the plague. However, in my daily hair routine, I think that I may be pulling too much. So here is a picture of a gentle style I chose to showcase my natural hair without being brutal to my edges. See below:
I achieved this look by creating a large side bang that I flat twisted away from my face. The other side and back are placed in a ponytail. The hair sticking out of the ponytail was also twisted and wrapped around itself. I used the side twist to wrap around my ponytail.
What are you doing to protect those edges?

Product Review: Uncle Funky's Daughter Thirsty Curls
Thirsty Curls is a leave-in revitalizer for kinky and curly textures. The label says that it revives the bounce in curls without rewashing and great for post-gym and second day curl refreshing. It contains glycerin, coconut water, nettle extract, chamomile extract, rosemary leaf extract, among other things. The bottle is a spray bottle with 8 oz of liquid. It cost $15.
I applied it to damp hair and scrunched my hair. I use a spray bottle to add moisture to my hair so that its not drenched or soaking wet. I separated my hair in medium-sized sections. A little goes a long way. The spray makes it really easy to apply to my hair. It doesn't leave my hair sticky or crunchy. My hair has defined, springy curls. I don't need to re-apply throughout the day. It cuts down on my styling time. I will definitely use it in my arsenal. Check out the results below:
I was not paid for this review. Have you tried Thirsty Curls?
update: I posted the incorrect price. It is not $25, it is $15. Sorry guys.
